HRS is the private, non-profit mental health agency serving families and children in Wellesley, Weston, and Wayland. Our mission is to heal lives and strengthen our communities: to treat, reduce, and prevent mental illness and to support the well-being of children, families, and institutions in our towns.
We offer a broad range of outpatient diagnosis and treatment to residents and sliding-scale self-pay fees for those who qualify.
We also provide consultation to local schools and other organizations, and education to parent and civic groups, employee assistance programs, and college counseling.
Our staff is exceptionally familiar with, and devoted to our towns and we have senior-level specialists in a wide range of problem areas.
Mark Kline is a clinical psychologist and the Clinical Director of HRS, where he has served since 1989. He consults to local schools and maintains an active clinical practice, treating children, adolescents, adults, and families. Mark has a particular interest in the effects of technology and the internet on children and parenting. He has spoken to numerous local groups on this topic, and consulted with software companies on the development of internet security software.
Robert Evans, the Executive Director of HRS, is a clinical and organizational psychologist who has served the agency since 1974. A former high school and pre-school teacher, and a former child and family therapist, he has worked with families and schools, both locally and across the U.S., for 35 years. He has consulted to more than 1,700 schools and districts and has spoken to nearly as many parent audiences. His presentations are known for their lively wit and plain talk. Rob’s research interests have focussed on the challenge of leading innovation in schools and on changes in the American family and in the home-school relationship. He is the author of many articles and three books, Family Matters: How Schools Can Cope with The Crisis in Childrearing, The Human Side of School Change, and Seven Secrets of The Savvy School Leader.
